Chester Izydorczak Obituary

Chester Lawrence “Izzy” Izydorczak, 62, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at his home. He was born in Batavia, NY to Chester S. (deceased) and Viola J. (Trybuskiewicz) Izydorczak. 

Chet was extremely proud of and loving toward his daughters Regina C. of Charleston, SC and Rebecca A. of Buffalo, NY. He is survived by his wife of 37 years and best friend Nancy C. (Brueckman), his brothers Lawrence J. (Dawn), Gerald S. (Patricia), Brian A. (Maureen), and his sister-in-law Mary K.  He is pre-deceased by his brother Michael A. and his four nephews Peter, Simon, Luke, and John. He is also survived by many loving aunts, cousins, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and friends. 

Originally from Alden, NY, Chet has spent the last 15 years residing in Fort Myers, FL. He was an avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, football, and working out with his wife. He was a devoted fan of the Buffalo Bills, Buffalo Sabres, and Cincinnati Reds. In his youth, he coached little league football with his father for over 10 years, taught religious education to special needs children and volunteered for the Special Olympics. 

Deputy Sheriff First Class Izydorczak was most passionate about his career with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office. While attending the academy in 2005, he received the Top Gun Award. Chet later became Law Enforcement Certified, and over the course of his career, worked in Court Ops, East Patrol, JAM SET, South CID, North Patrol, and MCU Homicide Violent Crimes and was also a proud member of the LCSO Honor Guard. 

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 from 3:00pm-8:00pm at the Gallaher American Family Funeral Home, 2701 Cleveland Avenue, Fort Myers, FL. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2019 at 10:00am at Church of the Resurrection of Our Lord, 8121 Cypress Lake Drive, Fort Myers, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Chet’s name to 9463: A Foundation For Florida’s Fallen Officers at www.sgtchrisreyka.com.
