Anthony (Tony) Michael Sanders, 42, of Fort Myers, Florida, passed away on March 23, 2026, in Fort Myers.
Born on May 21, 1983, in Warrensburg, Missouri, Tony lived a life centered around faith, family, and community. He attended college and worked as a Pest Control Consultant.
Tony was a devout Christian who found joy in connection—both in person and online. He was an active member of the gaming community, where he built meaningful friendships and shared his passion for gaming. He also had an immense, incredible passion for the Kansas City Chiefs.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Charles and Grace Ryun; his paternal grandparents, John and Leah Sanders; and his best friend and brother, David Mize.
Tony is survived by his loving wife, Roxie Sanders; his daughters, Alexis Witt, Emily Witt, and Sophie Abeyta-Gilliam; his parents, Tom and Carol Sanders; and his siblings, Tommy (Stephanie), Johnny (Anna), and Jennifer (Scott). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, including Dakota, Cheyenne, Brandon, Elizabeth, Adam, Zach, Mackenzie, Michael, Mason, Jadon, Aurore, Makayla, Daniel, and Hunter, along with many others who lovingly knew him as “Uncle Dodo.”
He will be deeply missed by his close friends, Greg Brown and Matt Mueller, as well as his beloved cats and extended “grand-pets,” who were an important part of his life.
A memorial service will be held in Kansas City, Missouri, with the date to be determined.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Gamers Outreach in support of hospitalized children.
Tony will be remembered for his unwavering faith, his incredible devotion to his wife, his love for his family, and the strong, lasting connections he built with everyone around him.
