Antonio Ramos

Antonio Ramos, 85, Fort Myers, Florida and formally of Aurora, Illinois, passed away after battling a long illness on Saturday, April 9, 2016 at home surrounded by family. He was born on June 12, 1930 in Lares, Puerto Rico.

Antonio preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years Josefa (2006), father Bartolo, mother Marianna, stepmother Flora and brother Angel Ramos Santiago.

Survivors include his loving 11 children; Elba (Pedro) Ramos, Reynaldo (Sally Flores), Gidget (Gollo) Ramos Soto, Antonio Jr. (Maria), Helen (Saul) Ramos Cruz, Manuel (Cheryl), Tammy (Johnnie) Gonzalez, Milta (Julio) Espinoza, Maria (Tony) Godbolt, Josie (Joe) Rivera and Miguel (Maria) and little Josie that he helped raise for many years. He is also survived by thirty-one grandchildren and many great grandchildren, brothers and sisters Helo, Hilario, Pedro, Miguel, Hilton, Emerenciana, Victoria, Antonia, and Margarita and many nieces and nephews.

Services will include visitation on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at Gallaher Funeral Home in Fort Myers, FL from 5-8 p.m. Mass will be held at Jesus Obrero Catholic Church (Jesus the Worker) in Fort Myers FL, Fr. Jose De Olmo will officiate, on Thursday, April 14 at 11:00 a.m. to celebrate his life. Interment will follow at Lee Memorial Park Cemetary, Rt. 82 Lehigh, FL.

Antonio was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Aurora, Illinois for many years, relocated with his wife to Florida and was a member of Jesus Obrero Church in Fort Myers, FL. Antonio loved and is loved by a large family and friends. He could brighten up a room just by walking into it. He enjoyed having family get together's and a great game of dominoes.
