Brian A. McGowan

Brian Anthony McGowan, 64, of North Fort Myers, Florida, passed away on November 13, 2025, in Fort Myers. Born on December 30, 1960, in Albany, New York, Brian lived a life defined by grit, heart, and a deep love for his family.

Brian proudly served his country in the United States Army, carrying with him a strong sense of responsibility and loyalty that remained evident throughout his life. After his military service, he continued to work hard and build a life grounded in commitment—to his family, to his values, and to the simple joys that made him happiest.

Brian’s favorite place was anywhere outdoors. He loved fishing at sunrise, hunting in the quiet of early morning, camping under the stars, and passing down those passions to the next generation. Nothing meant more to him than time spent with his grandchildren. Whether they were piling into his lap, running around the yard, or simply sharing a laugh, those moments were his world.

He is survived by his loving wife, Janet McGowan; his children, Tiffany Runion, Thomas McGowan, Robert Norris, and Nicole White; and his grandchildren: Abigail, Athena, Kaiya, Bryson, Dylan, Kendal, Junior, Dominic, Elana, and Collins. He is also survived by his siblings: Buddy, Eileen, Kevin, Patti, Sean, and Megan.

Brian was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Rosemary McGowan, who he now joins in peaceful rest.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, to be announced. Brian will be cremated in accordance with his wishes.

His family invites everyone who knew Brian to honor him by remembering the things he loved most: a good day on the water, the stillness of the woods, the laughter of children, and the importance of family above all else.
