Smith

North Fort Myers
Carol Smith, age 66, of Decatur, Illinois, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2026.
Carol was the devoted wife of Richard Smith, with whom she shared 45 years of marriage. She was the beloved daughter of the late Jean Charlene Tabacchi and the late Paul Eugene Phillips Sr.
Carol's greatest joy was her family. Her legacy lives on through her loving children, Karien Smith and Lora Kelley. She was a proud grandma to Brianlee Smith, Tyler Hill, Christopher Hill and Harley Hill. Carol is also survived by her mother, Fran Louise Phillips, along with other cherished family members who will continue to honor her memory.
A special mention is extended to Misty Ireland, whose friendship kindness, and support over the years meant so much to Carol and her family.
Carol will be remembered for her straightforward nature, unwavering love for her family, and the happiness she found in life's simple pleasures. She had a special love for her plants and was happiest when surrounded by the things and people she loved most. Her love, strength, unique personality, and deep devotion to her family made her a one-of-a-kind woman whose presence will be deeply missed. Though she is no longer with us, her love and the memories she created will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
At this time, no public services will be held. In accordance with the families wishes, they have chosen to honor Carol's life in a private and intimate gathering with immediate family. This time will allow them to come together, share cherished memories, and celebrate the life and love of a woman who meant so much to them.
Though Carol's journey has come to an end, the love she gave, the strength she showed, and the memories she leaves behind will remain forever. She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever held in the hearts of those who loved her.
