Dale Roger DeVries, of Estero, Florida, 84, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2026, surrounded by family. Dale was born on August 24,1941 in Grand Rapids, Michigan

He graduated from South High School, where he met his future wife, Marilyn Miller. They married in 1962 and built a loving life together that spanned more than six decades.

Dale proudly served his country in the United States Air Force before continuing his education at Michigan State University. He went on to build a long and successful career in computer science, working for General Motors and later EDS. His career began in Detroit, Michigan and later brought the family to Plano, Texas.

In retirement, Dale and Marilyn split their time between Westerville, Ohio and Estero, Florida, where they cherished time with their grandchildren and enjoyed watching them grow up.

Dale was known for his devotion to his family, his enthusiasm for Michigan State sports, and his keen interest in staying informed about current events and technology. He loved spending time in warm weather.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Marilyn; his daughter Jennifer (Damon) Whitfield, his son Kevin (Sharon) DeVries; his siblings Sue Gillis, and Ken DeVries; and his grandchildren, Gwen (Noah) Mlsna, Jared Whitfield, Nora Whitfield, Ethan DeVries, and Allison DeVries. He is preceded in death by his sister, Sharon Rupp.

Dale's family will hold a celebration of life this summer in Grand Haven, Michigan, one of his favorite places.

He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who know him.
