Elizabeth (Liz) Ann Baker

Elizabeth (Liz) Ann Baker 1947 -  2020 Liz was born in St. Paul, Mn. on February 11, 1947.  She graduated from Johnson Senior High School, and went on to further her education in various disciplines including business and healthcare.  She spent the majority of her career working in the newspaper industry as a typesetter.  This career spanned many years and allowed her to reside in many states, most notably Florida, where she worked in the composing department at the Tampa Tribune, and California, where she worked as a supervisor in the composing department at the San Jose Mercury News. Liz was an avid animal lover, and was known for the many pets she loved and shared her home with throughout the years.  She was very creative, and she was always busy making beautiful crafts or crocheting keepsake gifts for her family and friends. Liz was admired for her strength and perseverance when facing adversity, and was respected for her honesty.  She was never shy about sharing her opinion. Liz will be remembered for her loyalty to her friends and family, as she was always willing to lend a helping hand to those she loved. Liz joined her beloved daughter, Desi, and her grandmother, Annie, in heaven on January 15, 2020.  She leaves behind her brother Glen (Greta Cosby); daughters Dannette (Dave), Dawn (TJ Hollander), and Darcey; grandchildren Amy, Kortney, Kayla, Jason (Kim), Ashley, Willow, K.C., and Annie; five great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews; and her bonus children Julie, Michelle, Richard, Vanessa & Gunner. Last, but not least, Liz leaves behind her best friend and loyal companion, Downy. "Forever in our Hearts" A celebration of life will be held on Friday, January 24 at 3:00 pm.
