James Alden Bailey, 77, passed away peacefully with his daughter by his side on September 17, 2019 at Hospice House in Cape Coral, FL. James was born November 16, 1941 in Hazard, KY. He retired as an accountant with Mountain Comprehensive Health Corporation in Whitesburg, KY and owned the R&S Motel with his wife in Millersburg, KY. James enjoyed KY Wildcat basketball, coin collecting, history and research in genealogy. He was a member of the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels, National Society of Sons of the American Revolution, Society of Boonesborough, and the Society of Indiana Pioneers, among others. James was a gracious man who preferred to spend time at home with family above all else. He is survived by his daughter and her husband, Rebecca and Vincent Weirick, and grandson, Talon Weirick, of Fort Myers, FL. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian, in 2012. James wishes to spend eternity in his favorite mountain location, so his ashes will be spread at the Roaring Fork Stream in the Great Smoky Mountains of Tennessee at a later date. He will be forever missed and loved.
