James Boetius McCarty born Dec 30, 1939 died Oct 12, 2016 from a tragic bicycle accident in North Ft Myers FL. He was preceded in death by his parents the Hon. James E McCarty Bankruptcy Judge of the Eastern District of Wi. and  Josephine McCarty, his grandparents Boetius and Mary Ellen Murphy and Willam former chairman of the County Board of Supervisors Milwaukee County and his wife Margaret and  his grandnephew Jake McCarty. He is survived by his sisters Joanne McCarthy (John Deceased) Farmington Hills, Mi. Mary Ellen Big Cedar Lake WI and Brother William (Janet) St George  Utah and  many nieces nephews and cousins. He is also survived by his loving companion Sue Fleming and his former wife Maureen. Jim was born and raised in Shorewood, Wi, where he attended St Roberts Grade School. He attended Regis College Co, graduated from Marquette University and received a Masters Degree in social work from Loyala University Il . Jim was a parole and probation officer for the state of Wisconsin. Jim-Judge-Uncle Jimmy was a funny, loyal frugal irishman who loved the Packers, the Brewers, golf, peanuts and chocolate chip cookies. He was an avid bridge player and loved to work crossword puzzles. There will be a memorial Mass on Tuesday January 17, 2017 at 11.00AM at ST Francis Xavier Catholic Church Fort Myers FL. and at St Roberts Catholic Church at a later date. Memorials in Jim’s name may be made to Harry Chapman Food Bank 3760 Fowler ST Ft Myers FL 33901. In loving gratitude  for having Jim in our lives we will remember him always.
