Janet P Burbage

Janet Pace Burbage, 87, passed away on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 with her family by her side at Hope Hospice Healthpark in Ft. Myers, Florida.    Janet was born on March 22, 1933 in Adrian, Michigan to Harold V. and Katherine H. Pace.   As a child, she lived in Orlando, FL and Norfolk, VA where she graduated from Granby High School.  Janet earned a BA in Elementary Education from the University of Richmond.  After graduation Janet met and married William J. Burbage on June 16, 1956.  Janet and Bill raised 2 daughters in Raleigh, North Carolina where she was an elementary school teacher, a Girl Scout leader and enjoyed summers on the NC coast.   Janet and her husband Bill enjoyed traveling in their RV, spending winters on Sanibel Island and eventually became full time Florida residents.  Most recently they lived in Shell Point.  Janet is survived by her husband Bill of 64 years, daughter Becky Owen and husband Joe of Wilmington, NC; daughter Cindy McNeill and husband Coy of Pinehurst, NC; 6 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren all living in NC.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be sent to Hope Hospice Healthpark in Ft. Myers, Florida.
