Jon Chester Olpinski, 45, of Fort Myers, Florida, passed away on January 3, 2026, at his home. Born on December 22, 1980, in Fullerton, California, Jon’s life was marked by quiet strength, loyalty to family, and a generous heart that left a lasting impression on those who knew him.
Jon grew up in California and graduated from Benicia High School in 1999, where he proudly played both junior varsity and varsity baseball and basketball. Sports were more than just games to Jon — they reflected his discipline, teamwork, and determination, qualities that stayed with him throughout his life.
As an adult, Jon made his home in Fort Myers, Florida, where he worked in Airport Transportation Services at Southwest Florida International Airport. He was dependable, hardworking, and steady — someone others could count on without question. Jon lived simply, valued authenticity, and carried himself with humility.
Above all else, Jon was a son, a family member, and a friend. He shared a close bond with his parents and family, and his presence will be deeply missed in ways that words cannot fully express.
Jon was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Don and Mary Miller; his paternal grandparents, Chester and Ethel Olpinski; and his brother, Gary Olpinski.
He is survived by his loving parents, Gary and Marilyn Olpinski, of Orlando, Florida; his aunt, Maureen Olpinski, and her fiancé, Stanley Blazik, of Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania; and extended family and friends who will forever carry his memory with them.
Jon’s life, though far too short, mattered deeply. He will be remembered for his kindness, his quiet nature, his dedication to those he loved, and the way he showed up — without needing recognition — for the people and responsibilities in his life.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made in Jon’s honor to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, a cause that reflects compassion and hope for others.
Arrangements are entrusted to Gallaher American Family Funeral Home, Fort Myers, Florida.
