Landry Stephenson Volcy, 86, died February 10, 2019 with his family by his side in Lehigh Acres, FL. Born in Port au Prince, Haiti on July 3, 1932, he was the youngest son of ten children.
He loved his country and proudly served during the Korean War in the United States Army, followed by eight years of service with the United States Army Reserve. He received the following medals during his tour of duty; National Defense Service Medal, Occupation Medal Germany, and Good Conduct Medal.
Steve touched the lives of many; early in his career serving as a mentor and technical instructor for Phelps Stokes Institute and later in life as a volunteer for The Shelter for Abused Women & Children. He enjoyed the outdoors and could often be found into his last days tilling the soil for his garden or performing grafting techniques.
Steve is predeceased by six sisters, two brothers and Martha B. Volcy.
He is survived by his sister, Marie Hippolyte; his eight children, Landry S. Volcy, Jr., Lu-Ann Methvin (John), Denise McMahon (James), Mary C. Vaughn, Georgiana F. Volcy, Andrew S. Volcy (Leah), Matthew S. Volcy, Paola Fay (Justin); seven grandchildren, Landry S. Volcy, III (Krystle), Rochelle Esplugas (Randy), Derrelle Gable, Joshua J. McMahon, Gavin L. Volcy, Daniel S. Volcy, Rosabella F. Volcy, Esteban A. Fay; and three great-grandchildren, Zoe Volcy, Devin Cortez, Drew Cortez. Also survived by Daphne C. Volcy and Martha R. Volcy.

A Celebration of Life Ceremony will take place in The Gardens of Shangri La on Sunday, February 24th at 2pm.
