Luis Pablo Ramirez-Mejia

Luis Pablo Ramirez Mejia, 17, of Immokalee, passed away on, Thursday, October 3, 2019, from injuries sustained in a tragic vehicle accident on State Road 29 in Immokalee, Florida. Luis Pablo was born June 23, 2002, in Naples, Florida and grew up in Immokalee, Florida. He was a student in his senior year at Immokalee High School having previously attended Labelle High School and the Florida Virtual School. Luis Pablo was a multi-talented young man, having dabbled in music and sports throughout his short life. He was an accomplished soccer player and had enjoyed the opportunity to travel to Europe and Mexico to play in various events and tournaments. He had recently begun volunteering again with Immokalee Soccer School & Academy. He planned to continue his studies after graduating high school and had dreamt of starting his own clothing brand, LUPARAME, based on the first two letters of each of his names. Luis Pablo is survived by his heart-broken family: his mother, Blanca Mejia Medina of Immokalee, FL; his father, Pablo Ramirez of Felda, FL; loving sisters, Paola Ramirez-Mejia of Immokalee and Amanda Ramirez-Mejia, enlisted Army; maternal grandparents, Isidra Medina Diaz and Ambrosio Mejia of Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico; paternal grandparents Asuncion Soriano Santana of Albertville, Alabama and Felix Ramirez Altamirano of San Jose Llano Grande, Miahuatlan, Oaxaca, Mexico; and half- siblings: Roger Paul Ramirez of Felda, FL and Melisa Ramirez of Texas.  He also leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends throughout Southwest Florida, Texas, and Mexico. Services were held on Friday, October 11 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Luis Pablo was laid to rest at Lake Trafford Memorial Gardens in Immokalee.  Pallbearers were his sisters, cousins, and closest friends. Luis Pablo’s sisters plan to honor their brother’s life by launching the LUPARAME clothing brand in his memory.
