Lynn Mae Beck

Lynn Mae Beck, 86, Lehigh Acres Florida, passed away April 24, 2018 at Gulf Coast Medical Center, Fort Myers, FL. Formerly of Milwaukee, Wisconsin Lynn relocated with her husband to Florida in 1988. Lynn was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Richard D. Beck. Devoted and loving mother of Christopher (Kelly) Beck, Overland Park KS, Mary Beck, Lehigh Acres FL, and James Beck, Lehigh Acres, FL. Lynn adored her grandchildren Kristen (Matt) Phillips and Michelle (Kaleb) Sullivan, and five great grandchildren Zach, Bradyn, Easton Phillips and William & Waverly Sullivan. Lynn was preceded in death by her brother Fredrick Merrill, and step-sisters Lynn Wilder and Sally McCoy. She is survived by step-sister Gretchen (Ron) Schanz, Sussex WI, and many dear nieces and nephews. Lynn was born and grew up in Sturgeon Bay WI. She graduated from Valparaiso University and was a school teacher for years before staying home to be a full-time mom. Lynn was a faithful longtime member of the Faith Lutheran Church in Lehigh Acres. She was also a member of the Women of ELCA, Leigh Acres Resort–Admiral Lehigh Women’s Golf Group, Lehigh Acres General Woman’s Club, and for 28 years enjoyed volunteering at the Lehigh Acres Chamber of Commerce where she was named “The Heart of Lehigh” in 2017. Lynn also had a close group of girlfriends who took care of each other and played Bridge faithfully every week. Lynn was also always surrounded by many, many great friends. Services will be held at the Faith Lutheran Church in Lehigh Acres on June 2, 2018 at 11:00 am with a luncheon immediately following in the church’s Sweatlock Hall. Burial will be alongside Dick at the Sarasota National Cemetery, Sarasota FL at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lynn’s memory to Faith Lutheran Church, 705 Leeland Heights Boulevard East, Lehigh Acres FL 33936.
