Margert Yevette Alston was born to the proud parents of Joe and Barbara Alston on January 14, 1964 in Fort Myers, Florida

Yevette's education began in the Florida public school system. She graduated from Cape Coral High School, Cape Coral, Florida and Lee Vo-Tech School.

She later met and married Douglas Jean Atkins, and together they had a blended family union of her four girls and his four girls. Her grandparents: the late Margret Elijah (LaGrand Alexander) Jenkins, the late George (Isabella Gadsden) Alston.  Mother: the late Barbara Jean Jenkins, two siblings: stillborn Joann Alston born June 1960 and Julian Alston born 1972. Two daughters: Tonenesha Alston and Ericka Jean all preceded her in death.

Margert was the mother of four beautiful daughters. She was a grandmother of three. She was a beloved sister, auntie, cousin and friend.

Yevette leaves behind to cherish her memory and legacy three children: daughters Brittany Jean of Lehigh Acres, Florida; Oreila Jean of Jacksonville, Florida; I’eshea Jean, of Lehigh Acres, FL. Stepdaughters: Collett Atkins, Keturah Primus, Shawnise Atkins and Talisesha Chatman all of Florida. Three grandchildren: Jha’Lani BriLynne & Jordan Giovanni Hood of Leigh Acres, FL and George Ralph Barksdale, IV of Jacksonville, FL. Sister Barbara (Harry) Loggins of Birmingham, Alabama; Brother Joe (Martina) Alston, of Lehigh Acres, Florida; Sister Sharon Alston(David) of Sarasota, Florida; Brother Dwayne Alston of Ft. Myers, Florida; Brother Kenneth(Kate) Jenkins of Cape Coral, Florida; Sister Robin Moore of Jacksonville, Florida; Nine Nieces and Six Nephews: Candace (Rodney) Marks of Leigh Acres, FL; William(Tashira) Wilcox of Cape Coral, FL; Natalie Wilcox-Blutcher, James Aaron Pierre, Jr., Julian McDuffie all of Birmingham, AL; Crystal(Willie) Woolfolk of Atlanta, Georgia; Asia Alston, Aaliya Alston, Christopher Alston all of Ft. Myers, FL; Roslyn, Carl, Jasmine, Richard, Rain, and Mercedes; a host of great nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
