Nelda S. Richardson Profile Photo

Nelda Richardson was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was born December 24, 1934 in Doyline, Louisiana to Bill Savacool and Alma Burt, the youngest of five children.

Growing up she was a dancer, cheerleader, and professional firecracker. She married her soulmate, Cecil P., after a love at first sight encounter when she was 18 years old. They were married for 43 years until his death in 1995 and they had 3 daughters together. She obtained her doctorates in Music and Special Education and was an educator for close to 25 years in those fields. She also taught piano lessons and played the church organ during services. She lived her life generously, compassionately, and always putting others before herself.

But Nelda was also fearless- obtaining her pilots license, taking on any challenge, she faced with grace, and going against the grain when it meant doing the right thing. She loved classical music, history, and her family, especially her Cecil P. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her and the love she gave us will never be forgotten.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers and sisters, her dear husband Cecil, and her beloved grandchildren Lauren and Daniel. She is survived by her three daughters Celia Ann Barnett, Patricia Kreider, and Lynn Ravenschlag, her sons-in-law Craig Kreider & Eric Ravenschlag, her grandchildren Zachary, Nathan, Missy, Adam (Jamie), Matt (Deanna), Ben (Linda), Eva, Olivia, and Cole, & her great-grandchildren Logan, Chloe, Kendall, Darbylee, Alexander, and Leonardo.
