Paul David Jones

Paul "Jonzy" Jones, age 57, passed away on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at 12:07 a.m. He was born in Wilmington, Ohio on February 12, 1963. Paul was a loving father, husband, and friend. There was never a "stray" that he didn't take in, not just four-footed strays either. Some of those became best friends to Paul. He loved to help everyone and gave many, the shirt off his back.

His brother, Franklin, wrote a poem to honor his memory.

My older brother was my hero

though I never ever told him so

Born into a poor family with me

did he even stand a chance?

Always at the bottom looking up

imagining, scheming, planning

to make a life he could be proud of

a life he could fit into

School was by no means kind to him

he was not a kid to follow the rules

He was a man of great conviction

The world had its principals

my brother had his

Don't you label him a rule breaker

Some people just live by their own

He did

The world would never know his kind

the dreamers and authors of creation

It will never allow them to prosper

I wonder if he ever really know where he fit?

Life had a way of pushing him ever forward

confused, lost, misunderstood,

but never compelled to compromise

the path toward his destiny

My brother never met a stray he didn't love

bringing them home to feed and nurture

As a father, he was a natural

I never questioned why he was given all girls

It takes a special kind of man to raise females

His propensity to adopt strays wasn't limited

Most of his friends once were strays as well

I see you rolling your eyes, you know it's truth

He was at the very center of his world

If you accepted him by his terms

you were not just in, you were his

never were you left on your own,

left behind, left out, left alone.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents, William and Patricia Jones, and his older brother Thomas Sr. He is survived by his wife Sylvia, daughters Marisa, Sylenia, Lynnia, Shyla, sons Robert, Bradley, Cory, and Devian, grand-children Zayne, Logan, Lily, Harper, Melvin, James, Hunter, Iris, Justin, Chasity, Chanel, Cory Jr., Lucian, brothers Frank, Bill, sisters Candy, Theresa, and Vicky. Also by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, friends, and family.

Paul "JONZY" Jones will forever and always be in our hearts and remain by our sides. There is a service on Sunday, January 31, 2021, at 12:00 p.m at Caloosahatchee Regional Park (Camp Ground). 19130 North River Road Alva, FL 33920.
