Robert married Trula Johnson in 1952 and together they raised four daughters; Mary Louise, Karen Ann, Barbara Jean and Donna Marie. Robert and Trula spent 27 loving years together before Trula passed away in 1979. He moved to Florida, where he lived the remainder of his life. In 1981 he married Pat Cincotta. They were married for 35 years when Pat passed away in 2016.

Robert had an unending love for his family and was strong in his faith. He enjoyed swimming, diving, golf, cards and spending time with his family and friends. He also loved to dance and music of any kind moved his soul. He was known to burst into song at any time. Robert loved life and remained happy and optimistic throughout his life.

He will always be remembered by his family as a loving father and grandfather who taught them patience, kindness, love and respect. He passed on a joy and zest for life. He was a role model on how to act and treat others. He was truly a beacon of light and inspiration for those he touched.
