Ronald Harry Brown

On Wednesday, September 5th, Ronald Brown, husband and father, passed away suddenly at the age of 81 years. A native of Chicago, Ron grew up on Ashland Avenue with his cousin and close friend Conrad Firling. Ron served in the United States Army at Fort Sam Houston and rose to the rank of Captain. He completed his Masters Degree at Loyola University in Chicago. Ron's career most notably included Marketing Director at the New England Journal of Medicine in Massachusetts and later serving as Marketing Director at the National Association of Realtors in Chicago. Ron retired in Fort Myers, FL where he committed a significant amount of his time to working with special needs children. Ron will be remembered by his loving wife of 17 years Gloria Jastram Brown. The late Sandra Brown was Ron’s former wife, good friend and mother of his children. Ron will be remembered by his children, Lisa, Christopher, Matthew and Sara and his step-children Mike and Laine. Ron is survived by his many grandchildren, David, Erik, Kristina, Max, Matthew, Harry, Aidan, Jack, Sophie, Lucy and Ellie. Friends and family are welcome to pay respects to Ron, Monday, September 10, 2018 from 2PM - 5PM at the Gallaher Funeral Home, 2701 Cleveland Ave Fort Myers, FL. A Celebration of Life will take place the following day at 11AM, Tuesday, September 11, 2018 in the funeral home, followed by military honors.
