Ron loved to be on the lakes in Minnesota, boating and fishing. After retirement he moved to Florida where he worked for Shell Oil running ships. He settled in Fort Myers with his wife Brenda and together they managed a corporate yacht, where he was loving known as "Capt. Ron". Traveling with the owners to the Bahamas, Key West, along the west coast of Florida and a trip to Cuba. He was also a boat surveyor. His love for fishing continued in the Gulf of Mexico.
