Stephen Kraynak, 88, of Fort Myers, Florida, passed away peacefully on December 2, 2025. Born on March 27, 1937, in Passaic, New Jersey, Stephen lived a long, inventive, and meaningful life defined by curiosity, craftsmanship, and a deep love for the people around him.
Stephen spent his career as a Packaging Engineer with Novartis in the pharmaceutical industry, where his talent for problem-solving and his natural ingenuity shined. Known as a true jack of all trades, he could fix nearly anything placed in front of him. He loved tinkering, building, and imagining new ways to make everyday life a little better. Stephen never stopped learning, never stopped exploring how things worked, and never lost that spark of creativity that made him so unique.
He had a genuine love of life—and he poured that love into the things that mattered most: his family, his projects, and his time spent working in his garage. Whether he was inventing something, or repairing something, Stephen found joy in being hands-on and fully engaged with the world.
Stephen was preceded in death by his wife, Rovina, and his son, James.
He is survived by his daughters, Patty Longo (and her husband, Rich Longo) and Judy Kraynak; his grandsons, Stephen (Sarah) and Cody Kraynak; his great-granddaughter, Serenity; his companion, Margret Schall; and his brother, George Kraynak. Each of them carries pieces of his talent, humor, and resilient spirit.
Stephen’s family will remember him as a thinker, a maker, a fixer, and a man with an endlessly creative mind. But above all, they will remember him as someone who loved deeply and lived fully.
Arrangements are under the care of Gallaher American Family Funeral Home, Fort Myers, Florida.
