Thomas Edward Thompson, known to many as “Tommy Too Tall,” passed away on December 24, 2025, in Fort Myers, Florida, at the age of 61. He was born March 27, 1964, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Tommy made his home in Six Lakes, Michigan, and spent his winters in Fort Myers, where he enjoyed time with family and friends.
Tommy was an entrepreneur through and through. Over the years, he owned and operated multiple businesses in sporting goods and cleaning services, most notably Too Talls Tasty Treats, which he proudly ran for more than 26½ years - one of his greatest accomplishments.
An avid hunter and fisherman, Tommy was a lifelong sports fan who closely followed the Detroit Lions, Detroit Tigers, and the University of Michigan. He also enjoyed a good movie or series and was a Gold Card Member of the Casino Club of Grand Rapids. Above all else, time spent catching up with family and friends at his Lakehouse and Florida home meant everything to him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dennis and Patricia Thompson, his brother Billy Thompson, his grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and in-laws.
Tommy is survived by his loving wife & soulmate, Mary Thompson, his children and grandchildren, who were the light of his life & his pride and joy: Sabrina Langlois and her children Zavier, Carter, Jacob, Henry, Mason and Samuel; Shannon and Corey Kondracki (Langlois) and their children Rachel and Jake, Ezra “Lissy” and Parker, Brandon, Kiera and Jase; and Joshua and Leslie Thompson and their children Donovan, Julissa, Jace and Kinsley. He is also survived by his sisters, Jackie (Don) Gillesse and Jill Thompson; his uncle, Jim Geigle; and several special cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, loving brothers and sisters-law, and many lifelong friends, which all meant the world to him.
