Valerie Jean Douse

Valerie Jean Douse, 65, died March 11th, 2020 while in hospice care in Lehigh Acres, Florida. Valerie was born November 9th, 1954 in Middlefield, Ohio to Sally and Clifford Gordon. The older sister to 5 boys, she enjoyed her time on the farm and was active in 4H activities in her youth. She would go on to marry twice, becoming a loving mother of 4 children, Brian, Barbara, Shawn, and John David. Valerie loved baking and was a skilled cake decorator by trade, a talent she shared with her mother. She also loved singing karaoke and was an active member in her church while she was able to do so.

Valerie was a kind woman, who opened her heart and her home to anyone in need and welcomed them with open arms. She was always happy to act as a surrogate mother to anyone in need of love and compassion, putting the needs of others above her own.

Valerie is survived by her mother, 5 brothers, 4 children and 8 grandchildren.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held Saturday, March 21st from 1-3 P.M. in the Chapel Of Hope, located at 1201 Wings Way, Lehigh Acres, FL. 33936. The family asks that those who will be attending wear the color purple, or butterflies in remembrance of her.
