Obituary

Vincenzo Sulpizi January 20, 1943 - March 21, 2026 Vincenzo (Enzo) Sulpizi died peacefully on March 21, 2026, at the age of 83. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Enzo was one of eight siblings born and raised in Villa Santa Maria, Abruzzo, Italy. In 1967, he met his wife, Maria, who had returned to Italy from the United States to visit family. Never one to turn away from an adventure, Enzo immigrated to New York City in 1968, married Maria in 1969, and began a culinary career while starting his own family. Even though he chose to build his life in the US, Enzo spent several weeks a year in Italy so he would always stay connected to his family. Enzo worked at various New York City restaurants while training to operate and manage a kitchen. After perfecting his craft, he took great pride in co-owning Ettorucci’s Restaurant in Stamford, CT for 23 years. Whether for restaurant patrons or his own family and friends, he joyfully cooked the kind of food that brought people together to make memories. Even years later people continue to share stories about how their most memorable celebrations were at Ettorucci’s. In his free time he enjoyed cruise vacations with friends, painting, and attending all his grandchildren’s activities. After retiring from the restaurant business he happily filled his time working with his children to help them launch their own businesses. It was during this time that Enzo earned his infamous nickname “Mister.” What Enzo loved most was spending as much time as possible at his vacation home in Vermont where he rode his backhoe, played golf, smoked cigars in the shade of “Enzo’s Garden,” and laughed with his family around bonfires. Vincenzo was predeceased by his son, Enzo. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Maria, his two children; Alessandro Sulpizi & his wife Milena, and Stefanie Bhalla & her husband Amit. He was a loving nonno to five grandchildren; Christian Aidan, Gabriella, Alessandro Luca, Tyler and Braden. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Enzo’s memory to the North Collier Fire Control and Rescue District. Over the years, they have been invaluable to our family as their lift and assist fire fighters often came in the middle of the night to help. Checks can be mailed to: North Fire Control and Rescue District 1885 Veterans Park Drive Naples, FL 34109
