Wenceslao Vasquez, age 75, of Lehigh Acres, Florida, passed away unexpectedly on August 17, 2026, in Fort Myers, Florida. He was born on April 12, 1951, in Ponce, Puerto Rico, the son of Jose Vasquez and Justina Baez.
Wenceslao was a hardworking man who took great pride in providing for his family. Throughout his working life, he worked as a laundry room attendant and as a warehouse associate. He continued working at Interstate Batteries until the time of his passing. His work was an important part of his life, but those who knew him best will remember him for the many interests, talents, and passions that made him who he was.
Wenceslao had a genuine love for music and was a talented percussionist. Music was more than simply something he enjoyed listening to; it was something he enjoyed sharing with others. He was a member of a worship team, where he used his musical talents in service to his church and community. He also had a deep passion for martial arts. A love for martial arts began when he was young, and over the years, he enjoyed both learning and teaching. He shared his knowledge with his brothers and cousins, passing along the skills and lessons he had learned. Wenceslao also enjoyed photography and had a giving heart, often finding ways to help others, including through service at a local food pantry.
He had a particular passion for automobiles. Wenceslao loved muscle cars and enjoyed building model cars, taking great interest in the details and craftsmanship that went into them. His hobbies reflected his personality - curious, hands-on, creative, and someone who enjoyed having something to work on and appreciate.
Above all, Wenceslao's greatest passion was his family. He shared his life with his wife, Debra Vasquez, and was a proud father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He leaves behind two sons, nine grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. Wenceslao was one of 16 children and is survived by 10 of his brothers and sisters, who shared many memories and experiences with him throughout his life.
Those who knew Wenceslao will remember a man who worked hard, loved his family deeply, enjoyed music, automobiles, and martial arts, and found ways to give of himself to others. His unexpected passing leaves a tremendous void for those who loved him, but the memories he created with his family, the music he shared, the lessons he taught, and the passions he enjoyed will continue to be cherished.
A Celebration of Life honoring Wenceslao will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Calvary Nations Church, located at 19859 Palm Beach Boulevard, Alva, Florida 33920. Family and friends are invited to come together to remember Wenceslao, celebrate his life, and share the memories he leaves behind.
