Catherine Nelson

Catherine (Lady) Nelson was born February 27,1934, in Winter Gardens Florida, she was the 2nd eldest to the late Leroy & Martha P. Nelson. She passed surrounded by loved ones on Friday November 10,2023 at Charlotte Bay Rehabilitation & Care Center. Catherine lived in Florida with her parents and siblings for her first 15 years of life. Known fondly as "Lady" at the age of 15, she relocated to Schenectady NY where she finished her education in the Schenectady City School District. Catherine was employed at Al Tech Steel Mill in Menands, NY where she worked for several years until her retirement. She then took a position at School 2 in Troy as a lunch aide. Catherine enjoyed fishing, bingo, cooking and listening to gospel music. Catherine loved and enjoyed the company of her grandchildren, family and friends. Catherine relocated to her home state Florida in 2007 where she became a member of the Greater Mount Carmel Baptist Church. Catherine leaves to cherish her memories 1 brother Herman Nelson, sons Ronald (Tammy), Robert Anthony (Gloria), Albert, Shawn, Dwayne a daughter Jennie, and loved as her own Lynwood Jr. Catherine has 20 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren as well as a host of nieces, nephew’s family and friends that will miss her greatly.

Catherine was preceded in death by one son Lynwood Nelson Sr, one daughter Teresa Louise Nelson, three sisters Doris, Lavoughn, Linda, two brothers Leroy and Terry.
