Eddie Eugene Neese passed away suddenly on the afternoon of Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at his residence in Fort Myers, Florida.
Eddie was born in Whitsett, North Carolina on October 25, 1949 to George and Edith Neese. His family moved to Florida in 1965, and after graduating from Fort Myers High School, Eddie decided to pursue a degree in Engineering from University of Florida. He became a Civil Engineer and started his own business in 1982. Eddie was hard-working, playful, and honest.
In his free time, he loved being on a boat and in the mountains. He often recounted stories from the numerous ski vacations with his brother, Al, in the Rocky Mountains and around Lake Tahoe. He is survived by his two children, Sheena Chakeres and Eddie Lee Neese, and his first grandchild, Aris Chakeres. When his declining health prevented him from skiing, Eddie found joy in spending time in Santa Fe, New Mexico with his children and grandchild, who brought him much love and light in the years leading up to his passing.
Sheena and Eddie tentatively plan to have an outdoor service for their father in Aspen/Snowmass, where his ashes will be spread during the weekend of September 25. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate a contribution to the National Park Service. Eddie’s favorite was the Grand Canyon.
