Harvey Andrew Cherry, born in the year of our Lord, February 17, 1959, (Psalm 27:1) The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
It is with a heavy heart the family of Harvey Andrew Cherry, and especially his brother Ira Cherry, announces the passing of his brother; who Ira will always hold dear as his first friend, confidant, and comrade in arms; Harvey Andrew Cherry is now in his eternal home and in the Glory of his Heavenly Father and his earthly father Claude Watson and mother Evora Cherry (nee Gooden) who joyously welcomed him.
Harvey joined the United States Army and served from 1983-1986. During his service he was in the field Artillery Branch where he was assigned overseas duty to 82nd Liaison (fwd.) to Wiesbaden Germany, with further duty to Fort Campbell Kentucky where he received his honorable discharge.
Harvey leaves behind to mourn his memory, his siblings; Ira Cherry, Gary Cherry, Helen Jeanette and Jeff Cherry, a host of nieces and nephews including Ira Jr., Cindy, Gary Jr., Robert, Evora(P), Davaughn, Evora A., Lawrence, Shawn, and Shanna, dear Aunts and Uncles; Missouri, Granville, Fannie Mae, and Andrew(J). and many cousins; Lois Marie, Estelle, Darlene, Steven, Robert Earl, Horace, Dora, Thelma, Aleathia, James Jr., Diane, Eric, Ronald, Granville Jr, Gregory, Sharon, Rebecca, Tyrone, and Tawana....
Harvey Cherry will be laid to rest at Sarasota National Cemetery with the honor and dignity he deserves as a United States Veteran and forever "ALWAYS in Service for the ARMY of the LORD"...
