Johnie V. Greenwell

Johnie Virgil Greenwell, age 73, of North Fort Myers, FL passed away on January 14th, 2023.

We will be celebrating his life at New Testament Baptist church on January 28th, 2023 at 2805 N.E. Pine Island Road, Cape Coral, FL 33909 at 11:00 am.

Pastor Roan will be officiating followed by shared memories with family and friends.

Johnie was born in Louisville, KY on 01/18/1949. At the age of 15 he moved to Florida with his family, and at the age of 17 (1966) he enlisted in the United States Coast Guard where he continued to rank up and serve until his retirement as Master Chief in 1988.

Johnie married his "Sweetlips" Arlene Greenwell on August 3rd 2014. They were blessed to have reconnected after more than 40 years when their love story began.

Johnie's greatest joys were his family, the ocean, riding his Harley, reminiscing, spending time with his veteran and non veteran friends, his morning coffee and crossword. He spent many years serving and volunteering at various veterans posts.

Johnie is survived by his wife, Arlene, his children Tamera (Rodney), Joshua (Kristen), Melanie, Melinda (Adam) & Megan. His Grandchildren: Casey, Savana, Mathew, Ava, Dylan, Evan, Manny, Anthony, Kaylee, McKenzie, Carolina & Caden and his Great Granchildren Tianna and Liam. His Brother Tim, his sister Elaine, his nephews and neice Jake, Sara, Travis, Troy, Charlie & Dustin and many other great nephews, neices and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his Brother Roger, his Father Johnie and his Mother Sally 'AKA' Big Red.
