Jose Thomas Vasquez

Jose Thomas Vasquez, 61, of Garner, North Carolina passed away suddenly on November 11, 2020 in Fort Myers, Florida.

Jose was born on February 9, 1959 to Rosalio and Maria Vasquez in Toledo, Ohio. He graduated from Macomber-Whitney High School in 1977. He worked as a computer engineer at Verizon Business for the last 24 years. Jose was a kind soul who touched the lives of anyone who had the privilege to meet him. He was a devoted husband and father. He loved spending time with his dogs, Canela and Rhea, and cheering on the NC State Wolfpack and Ohio State Buckeyes.

He will be deeply missed by his friends, family and all who knew him.

Jose is survived by his wife, Michelle Vasquez; daughters, Jennifer and Jessica Vasquez; his brothers, Max (Lori) Vasquez, Carlos (Mary) Vasquez, Jesus (Carol) Vasquez; his sisters, Juanita Vasquez, Kathy Leyman, Pam (Dave) Johnson, Karen (Tom) Abel, Patti (Tom) LaPlant; his granddaughter, Alia (Austen) LaPerriere, and numerous nephews, nieces and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rosalio and Maria Vasquez; and nephew, Christopher Vasquez.

The family would like to express their thanks for the help and care provided by the many health care workers at Health Park Medical Center in Fort Myers, Florida.

The family asks in lieu of flowers to make donations to the American Diabetes Association or Wake County Animal Center.
