Mark Evan Saylor

I knew Mark from Hanover College. Always remembered his nickname...Cheese.....for the blondish/reddish hair. Just found out he had passed when I received The Hanoverian magazine today. I was a member of Phi Delta Theta and lived next door to the Beta house. We became friends and he always welcomed me into the Beta House to enjoy good times with his brothers. I lost track of most people after graduation, but always remembered him when I think back to those days. So sorry for the loss too soon.

The ultimate caring teacher - and always a smile. I first worked with Mark in 1986 as a brand new (and clueless!) CPI rep. As I joined him for the first AICD implant at the University of Michigan, I watched what became a model for me of interaction with OR staff. He had a say of teaching others with a positive impact. How many Doctors and nurses and folks like me did he teach? How many lives did they go on to help save? and as if you were with himhow many smiles did that generate? Smile, Mark! Keith Gallagher
