Phyllis was one of my most generous and favorite clients that I have ever had. We had so much fun in our salon when she had her hair done. She was always laughing and was so full of life.
She loved her family and was so proud of them, always speaking so highly of them.
Her beautiful smile will be deeply missed by all of us at Sharper Image Salon.
Our hearts are saddened for her husband, children and grandchildren.
Memory Eternal! Love to all, Mary and Wendy

My heart is heavy over the loss of Phyllis in our world as we know it. I did not know Phyllis well, but that made my connection with her only more special. Twenty years ago when I was going through a very difficult time, Phyllis, an acquaintance at the time, sent me flowers quite often...for a year. The note was always simple, just "Thinking of You". She made an impact on my life that I will never forget. Her zest for life helped me rekindle my own. I wish Peace to all in the Bates family through knowing you shared with all of us an incredible woman. Patti Berni

I only knew Phyllis through her mom Doris, and her sister Stephanie at the church where I worked.  She was a loving daughter and sister, and what a grandmother she was!!!  I'm really sad for her family, but happy that she and her mother are reunited in heaven.  There's a brighter star in the sky now.  My love to her husband, and Stephanie, and the whole family.  I know you are missed!

To the Bates Family-

I’m just repeating what has already been said.  Phyllis was the most up beat, can do, write you a poem for, I’ll head that, and a most loving YaYa sister anyone could ever have. So glad we never lost contact from St. Louis to Florida to Dallas.  She will hold a special place in our Ya Ya hearts.
